How long have you played with the APC?
Not even 2 years. I played in a different league before. DA Nozick invited me to play in what he called a real tournament league. Compared to the other league, the Atlanta Poker Club has solid players who take it seriously.

Who has influenced your play the most?
I consider Maci (Tournament Director) my mentor and also watching people play has taught me different styles and enabled me to adjust my game.

What is your advice for new players?
First, make sure they know the basics of Texas Hold’em. And then they have to learn to have a read of the people they are playing at the table and that includes when to fold to them and when to call them. Learn how to fold depending on the action at the table. Fold Ace rag and don’t risk playing it against certain players. Mix up your game when you can to be tight and then aggressive. Be careful of bluffing until you have played awhile as it can be costly.

What are your goals in the APC?
To win the $10,000 Main Event! I am a VIP member but can never play in the APC $10,000 Main Event because it is scheduled the first weekend in June. Wish they would change the date because I’m committed to a major pool tournament that plays in Las Vegas every year at that time and the Main Event conflicts with that.

How did it feel to win the Grand Championship?
Overwhelming! It was least expected as I didn’t plan to win but just to play my best. It is an honor to be recognized and to be known. Just so happy!

I do really appreciated the APC for the opportunity and the way they make the Grand Championship run so well and it is so well organized. All the dealers really do their best and that makes it a wonderful experience. I enjoy playing with the nice people in the APC and I consider a lot of them my friends.
