APC 5th Annual Toys for Tots Knockout Tournament was held on Saturday, November 16th at the American Legion in Duluth. This Tournament was put on entirely by volunteers of the Atlanta Poker Club. What a great group of volunteers and volunteer dealers ever! Thank you all!
We had 137 players last year, and this year there were 158 PLAYERS!
There was a festive atmosphere with the Marines in attendance. Toys and bikes started piling up. Santa made an appearance. We sold T4T shirts, Christmas Ornaments, Glass Card Protectors, Mugs, and of course – Shot Glasses! In other words, a PARTY!
There was an Ugly Sweater Contest and it was frightening what players will wear…the UGLY SWEATER CONTEST was won by ADAM CIRA, and it was one ugly sweater!
For the first year there was an APC MASTER CHEF CONTEST, and APC MASTER CHEF is LADD GUNTER for his Seafood gumbo and Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, which was savored by all!
Tournament Directors had a contest to see who could sell the most tickets and Congratulations to Tournament Director Brooke Phillips who beat out all the TDs and sold the most
Toys for Tots tickets!
The play was intense along with that party atmosphere. We had 15 tables. The action moved along and everyone wanted to collect the knockout chips to earn that $5 per player!
Players were dropping out and staying around to watch the play. The final table was a good one with:
