Heads Up Poker MatchOne of the perks of playing poker with the Atlanta Poker Club is the fun stuff we do for our players. One of those promotions, and my personal favorite is the heads up poker challenge. Where I challenge the winner of pre-selected nights to a heads up match and if they win, I buy them an Atlanta Poker Club Polo Shirt. At the time of this post I’ve played 2 matches and one one and lost one. So far, Steve Cersosimo is the only player to win a Polo from me My first heads up challenge match was back at Cocktail Cove I played APC point powerhouse Steve C and at the time, relative newcomer Bill Babiarz. Results are in but let’s say I’m looking to improve my 50/50 record.

Well, the latest challenge matches are being held at Shakers in Lawrenceville this coming Thursday (11/29) at home of some of the best poker players in the APC and hosted by Travis “The Champ” Hart as your loyal TD and the two players who will face me on Thursday, November 29th are some of the best in the APC.

First Heads up Poker Match – Spry vs Randy Smith

I’ve played poker against Randy many, many times. Pretty much since the last season we were at my old stomping grounds, Dos Copas, Randy has changed his once tight game into a tight aggressive game. Over the past year or so I would venture to say that Randy has improved his game as much as anyone.

I look forward to the chess match that is to ensue… oh and his wife Kim might tell you about the time I cracked her KK with A rag offsuit on a super loose call…….. cough cough 🙂

Heads up Match #2 is The Godfather vs. the Tin Foil Hat Club

When John F is on his game is he probably the best player in the APC and is never, ever a suprise to be seen at the top of the leaderboards. John is as tricky and unpredictable as anyone at the table and I very much look forward to this matchup. I really don’t have much to say that you don’t already know. John is the all time APC most winning player in terms of total wins. It’s going to be a hell of a match unless we end up getting it all in on the first hand, which is certainly a possibility.

Travis’s Birthday Bash

Not only is it Heads up Challenge night, it is HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRAVIS! Rex Wamer has volunteered to guest TD (thanks Rex!) so Travis can play! We’re also doing a Knockout Competition that you won’t want to miss!

Remember, this is at Shakers in Lawrenceville.

Oh, to top it off, it also counts as a Knock Out Challenge Poker Event
