How long have you played with the APC?
Since 2005. It was midway through the third season.
How much have you been playing lately?
I committed to Friday nights only. Playing one venue to get into the bigger tournaments.
Who is your favorite poker player
When poker was one half of my life I enjoyed watching Phil Ivey…his reads and his changing of the gears when he had to and I based my play on his…his style…after I took a two year break I came back more aggressive and see more flops.
What are your goals in the APC?
To take down the Tournament of Champions and the Yearly Tournament. Really to get into the big tournaments and finish strong.
Advice for new players?
Practice! Play. Play. Play. Get the hands on experience and get out there and look the player in the eye across the table and get into the moment. And I never read a poker book.
How did it feel to win the prestigious All Star Tournament?
It felt good and was a good win. The top 2 out of each venue made for a better tournament as opposed to how it used to be to get in. A really better overall tournament. It felt real good going in and winning just capped it. It gave me reassurance that I could still play and still hang. Feel real good about the win. Since I don’t play as much as I used to it made me feel that my play hasn’t fallen off. For awhile after having a baby I played twice in two years. I wondered if I could still make the reads. I was questioning myself and it was a good victory.
Kenneth Branch proved to himself and to us that he is truly a Champion!
