The World Series Of Poker (WSOP) events are much more than watching the Main Event on television. There are WSOP circuit events that take place every month throughout the country that offer you the opportunity to play. Some APCers just want to play in free tournaments and make it a social occasion. Other APCers study the game and want to take their game to the next level. These circuit events give you the chance to play against some of the best.
The WSOP Circuit Event is currently taking place at the Imperial Palace (IP) in Biloxi. It started October 28th and goes through November 10th.
There are many options offered for players. There are circuit ring events, which mean you earn points in the WSOP and also have the opportunity to win a WSOP ring for First Place along with the prize money for that tournament. There are also events with only prize money at stake.
You can play Omaha 8 or better, H.O.R.S.E., Limit Omaha High, and many No Limit Hold’em events including 6-Handed No Limit Hold’em, Super Satellites, Ladies Only No Limit Hold’em, and Mega Satellites.
The Main Event at the IP starts today, Sunday, November 7th, and is a 3-day event with a $1,600 buy in. It is an Official WSOP Circuit Ring Event and Counts in Points Standings. Winner of this event receives automatic entry into the $1 million National Championship in May, 2011 in Las Vegas and that event is televised nationally and is a 3-day event.
For experience, there is nothing better than playing in one of these events. You sit down at the table, and in many instances all the other players know each other as they follow the WSOP circuit around all over the country. That makes your competition a real challenge as these players earn their living playing professionally. Playing against them means you need your A-game, and a little luck. Watching them play is a real learning experience and challenges you to take your game to another level.

As the event in Biloxi winds down, you might think about joining your fellow APCers at the event in January in Tunica. This event is from January 27th through February 15th, 2011.
