APC member Sallie Avino has 94,400 chips at first break, day 3, event #61 at the 2012 WSOP!

Atlanta Poker Club member Sallie Avino is smiling so much that her cheeks are hurting. Her adventure after winning the APC $10,000 Main Event is the experience of a lifetime!

Sallie is still playing in the 2012 WSOP Event #61 and will be starting day 3, today, Thursday, July 12, at Table 1 Seat 1 with $66,700 in chips.

In the entire Day 2, up until 45 minutes before the end of the evening, she was sitting next to Shaun Deeb (poker legend at 23 years of age) on her left. When she left his table he had amassed 500,000 in chips. In one hand she raised his big blind. He turned to her and said, “You raised my big blind?” Sallie said, “Yes, and if you fold I will show you and tell you why.” He folded and she showed J, 9 and told him she plays at the Wooden Nickel and it was the Wooden Nickel hand and now she can say Shaun Deeb folded to it! He laughed! Sallie says he is such a nice person!

The one hand Sallie won’t ever forget is when she was in the small blind with 6, 4 of diamonds. Shaun raised big and a player was slow playing Aces and called and Sallie folded. The flop would have given Sallie the flush with a straight flush draw. The betting continued big, and on the river came the 3 of diamonds which would have given Sallie the straight flush. Shaun showed the A of diamonds for the flush and there was no way he would have folded his hand!

Sallie went from 17,600 chips at the end of Wednesday when she had pocket jacks twice and then pocket kings from 17,600 to 66,700 in chips. Sallie feels she is okay and starting Thursday in decent shape.

Sallie doesn’t want to know who is at her table today until she gets to her seat. We wish her another day of good luck but most importantly another day of good fun!
