Steve Cersosimo has been with the Atlanta Poker Club since October 2005. He didn’t start playing full time though until Season 9. His introduction to the APC was a bit tough, on his first hand he ever played with the APC he got KK and made a 4 x BB raise. Nobody knows him so they all fold except for Chris Grube who ponders and finally calls with Ad, Qd. The flop comes Jd, 10d, 10h and Steve shoves and gets called. The turn is a brick and the river is the Kd. So first hand with the APC ends in his Kings full of Tens being beaten by a Royal Flush. Since then however, Steve has made it past the first hand quite a few times. He currently has 23 tournament wins and several championships. Steve also holds the record for all time points leader which he accomplished in Season 10 with 5549.90 points. Steve is also the only player so far to have beaten Jason Spry in the Heads up challenge.

Favorite Poker pro? Cash games, Sam Farha. Tournament play, a combination of Daniel Negreanu for reading skills and Howard Lederer for math expertise.

Who has influenced your play the most? Hard to pick just one, so I’ll pick 5 in no particular order; T Vue, Travis Hart, Joe Deslattes, Jeff Healan and believe it or not Hans Prosser.

What else do you want to accomplish with the APC? Win one of the ‘majors’ ie. Venue Championship, Grand Championship, All Stars.

Any advice for new members joining the APC? First and foremost, enjoy the game, but realize like any other game, it can be very competetive. There are people here that take it pretty seriously. Don’t take it to heart if they say anything negative. Learn from your mistakes and grow as a player.
